- I was wondering. In my tower case for my A1200 there are 3 3.5" drive bays and
- 3 5.25" bays. At the moment I have 2 3.5" floppy drives and a 3.5" HD.
- However, one of the small bays is at the back of the case, above the PSU. When
- I get a SCSI interface, I might need all the large bays, for CD-Rom, HD and
- poss a internal ZIP if it ever comes out. So I'll have to move my HD from its
- large bay to the one above the PSU. Will this cause problems?
- There is about 1/2 inch clearance between PSU and bay. I'm very worried about
- the PSU causing data loss with it's magnetic fields. Can I do anything to
- stop this? My IDE cable is long to start with, nearly 30cm for one device.
- Would some kind of sheilding help, aluminuim/lead? Or are drives made to
- withstand this kind of interferance. I don't want to try it and see cos i
- don't have a backup (yeah, call me stupid but I don't have any way of
- doing it apart from floppies) so any lost data is, well, lost.
-
- Any help appreciated
